Building Surface & History in Clay

June 13th & TBD, 2020 











This workshop we'll be focusing on creating three, 8" x 8" tiles that can be hung on the wall. The emphasis will be on exploration of textures, mark making and building surface with color. This is a two visit project that we'll create on March 28 and finish on a second visit  That second date will be determined during the workshop.

You will learn several new techniques:

  • Creating abstract forms.

  • Design & composition on clay surfaces.

  • Applying under glazes to stain & dry brush techniques.

  • Construction methods for hanging.

Beginner to advanced students are welcome. This is a fun and easy project that will be an art tryptic that you will be proud to hang in your home. I will walk you through each step of the process. Every participant will be successful during the six hours of instruction.  All materials and firing fees included. Light snacks will be served.









Patio Luminary Workshop

Thursday, June11th  10am-12pm.



We will create this unique pation luminary in a two hour class. It will be made of stoneware clay with the choice of colors for the glaze. You will be working with clay slabs, coils, texture tools and metal punches to create patterns.

This is a good project if you're a beginner or advanced clay maker. All materials and firing fees are included.

Wheel Throwing Workshop
Thursday's, June 11th - July 2, 2020

Have you ever wanted to try making pottery on a potters wheel? Maybe you would like to improve your wheel throwing skills. This is a perfect setting to challenge yourself and advance your clay making abilities. Bowls, plates, covered jars and tea pots are all a possibility. I limit the class to four participants in order to give individualized instruction and guidance. Each student will work at their own pace. All materials and firing fees included.
